In his free time, he loves to mountain bike, make kombucha, and cross-country ski with his family. Anthony and his wife, Heather, are the proud parents to 5 amazing kids ages 13 to 4.
In they decided to homeschool, leading to Mr. Anthony leaving his job as principal of Eastmont school and ing Oregon Family School. It has been a fantastic adventure and he is so glad to be able to support other families who are on the same path. Barber comes from an entire family of educators. He earned his B. He received his education in secondary English language arts, but has spent a good portion of his teaching career at the elementary level. He began teaching immediately after the completion of his undergraduate degree. He taught a complete range of subjects to 1st-5th graders at a full English immersion returnee institute in Seoul, South Korea for 14 months.
He then went on to earn a culinary degree from the New Zealand School of Food and Wine before returning to Korea for another two years to teach PK-8th grade at the same institution where he was the lead debate, grammar, and writing instructor. He also developed and taught a course in career development for three years at a graduate institution in San Jose, California.
Additionally, he managed the University Writing Center and taught business and conversational English courses. In his spare time, he is an avid distance biker, cook, international traveler, realtor, musician, and dog dad. Barber loves teaching 3rd and 4th grade, and is excited to support parents and students in their education! Hollie is originally from upstate NY and has lived all over the county.
After her children started school, Ms. Hollie was ready to go back to teaching. She ed OFS as the teacher in and now helps with curriculum support and is a virtual educational coordinator.

She taught first grade in Corvallis, OR, where she and her husband, Erik, lived for 12 years. InMs. Becca and her family moved back to Bend, OR. She has three active boys who are also homeschooled and also students at OFS. OFS students know Ms. Becca loves developing relationships with the families at OFS, helping implement curriculum and oversees families in our virtual program. She moved to Oregon inand helped start Eastmont Community School.
She worked throughout the entire US, and traveled internationally. Jill has a strong science background, loves math, and geeks out on Star Wars and running sled dogs. With that, she worked at Mt. Bachelor Sled Dog Rides for 8 years on the weekends. You may have seen her up there under all the mushing gear! Jill, Her husband Mike2 sons Jake and Nathan live on a 5 acre farm with goats, chickens, sled dogs, a tipi, and a cat.
They love playing music, kayaking, backpacking and long distance bike touring. They are currently completing the Trans American Cycling route, 1 month at a time each year. Jill is excited to support OFS kids and families this year with a good ear, a smile, a hug post Covid and lo of understanding! Heidi has been an educator since She finished her BA at Pacific University when her four children were all in school. She has fond memories of doing her homework alongside her children at the family dining room table.
Heidi is a native Oregonian, and she moved to Central Oregon, from the Hillsboro area, three years ago with her husband and her Boxer. She is looking forward to being part of the Oregon Family School and partnering with home school families. She is a confident artist, who also enjoys reading, writing, collecting buttons, making pickles, hiking, and spending time with her children and two grandchildren.

Sarah loves project based learning, and really enjoys teaching using hands-on methods. Sarah has a 7 year old son and she loves to use Kiwicrate for projects. She also bakes nearly every weekend. She has taught K through 8th grade students in California, Washington and Oregon for over 20 years. After her youngest daughter was born she decided to stay home and then began homeschooling both of her daughters when they started Kindergarten. She has been with Oregon Family School since its opening and feels very blessed to work with such an amazing staff! Her favorite part of working at OFS is getting to know the different families and supporting them in whatever way she can. She also enjoys making learning memorable and fun for her students. When not in the classroom, she can be found spending time with her family making fun memories. Her greatest goal as an educator is to inspire her students to love learning and to stay curious about the world around them.
She also does her best to create a sense of community in the classroom and wants each child to feel safe and valued. She has lived in Central Oregon for over 40 years. She grew up in Sisters and graduated from Redmond High School.
After college, she became a residential counselor for at-risk teenage girls for 4 years. Then her growing family of 4 wonderful kiddos came along and they decided to homeschool. To much of her delight, she homeschooled for 15 years.

Tina Mensing moved back to Central Oregon in She is happy to be back in this area and excited to be a part of Oregon Family School. Mensing has taught in both public and private schools and also homeschooled her own three children. She received her teaching certification in Idaho where she taught at a small two-room elementary school. Her passion is to help students love learning and spark curiosity with hands-on activities that build community.
Mensing loves anything outside! Hiking, biking, or paddle boarding with her friends are just a few of the things that you will find her and her family doing in this beautiful area. Cassi Riggs is originally from Minnesota, but lived in Arizona for 4 years before moving to Bend in July of She completed reading endorsement classes at Concordia St. Paul as part of a masters program. Cassi has been teaching for 15 years, 10 as a pre-kindergarten teacher, 2 as a fourth grade teacher, and, most recently, 3 as a middle school Language Arts teacher.
